Anna Villegas, a retired college English professor, lives in Nevada City, California, where her forebears settled during the Gold Rush. Her published work includes many short stories, poems, essays, newspaper columns, and three novels (from Synergistic Press, William Morrow, and St. Martin’s Press). The short story remains her favorite prose form.
